Singapore at Christmas

When I first started flying out of Gatwick on charter flights to and from Europe my biggest dream was to join one of the major schedule airlines and fly to the other side of the world. After many years going back and fourth to Tenerife and Spain I finally managed to work for BA on long haul. My first trip was 9 days long starting at London Heathrow flying on to Singapore where we would have 2 whole days off to acclimatise to the big time change and as an added bonus it was over the Christmas period.

Our beautiful hotel sat opposite the very famous Raffles Hotel, which was formed some 125 years ago in Singapore and is synonymous with luxury and glamour. The Captain insisted we pay a visit to the Long Bar and enjoy it’s famous cocktail The Singapore Sling. The Christmas decorations were out of this world. Singapore is famous for its street decorations and if you visit at Christmas time, an open top bus tour is a must!
